“Think for a moment, how the internet has allowed you to continue your studies through this lockdown. Yes, it might not be as great as going to school or college, but at least you don’t waste a whole year sitting at home and learning nothing. Now imagine what else the internet has to offer when it comes to deepening your learning? “

I want to bring your attention to the fact that the internet is a great place to learn, not just the topics that our school covers, but just about anything that one wants to learn. One can find both free resources and paid ones and learn from teachers from all over the world! All that one needs to do is to get on google and search for a topic you’d like to learn.

The internet has many wonderful free resources to learn from. If you want to learn school subjects, you can visit the Khan Academy website. They teach Math, Science, and many other subjects for free – imagine, learning from the best teachers and that too for free – no tuition fee!! Khan Academy even lets you learn in your local language, what more could one ask for! Then there is Wikipedia, a free encyclopedia. There you will find information about any and every topic under the sun. If on the other hand, you want to learn a skill, such as how to play an instrument, you can do that too. Just go on youtube, and find a teacher that can help you learn the instrument of your choice. If you’d prefer a more formal course, you can listen to the lectures of faculty from the best Indian colleges such as the IITs and the IIMS, or you can buy yourself a course on any one of the hundreds of topics from websites like Udemy, Coursera, and Unacademy, the choice is yours.

So dear friends, if you have the desire to learn, the internet is a great place to start. The only challenge is to manage that data pack between learning new things and the things on which we usually spend it on; be it music videos or games!
